CALL FOR ENTRIES:
KEY VISUAL DESIGN FOR
2008 HONOLULU RAINBOW FILM FESTIVAL
The Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Cultural Foundation is calling for entries for the key visual design that best represents the 19th annual Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival to be held Memorial Day weekend 2008.
Anyone can enter, including professional, amateur or student artists or graphic artists. The winner will be chosen in January 2008. A cash prize of $300 will be awarded, as well as two all-access festival passes for the 2008 Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival valued at $250.
Deadline for submission is December 31, 2007. Entries should include application form (enclosed), a color proof of the image, and the digital file on cd-rom. All entries should be submitted to:

The HGLCF is a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization whose mission is to educate and raise awareness of the community at large about gay & lesbian culture, arts and lifestyle. HGLCF also works toward instilling a sense of pride and respect among the members of the Gay community, as well as to highlight the unique cosmopolitan ambiance of the city of Honolulu.
The key visual for the Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival should follow the following guidelines and rules:
1. Visually convey the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender focus of the festival.
2. Visually convey the Honolulu venue of the festival.
3. Visually convey the film medium of the festival.
4. Reproduce well in color and B+W, in both large and small sizes.
5. If chosen, allow copyright permission for HGLCF to have rights to submitted image to reproduce in all print, film and video formats for the coming year of the festival, in the web archive indefinitely, and for future Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival use in perpetuity.
The winning key visual will be applied on Posters, Program and Website. In addition, it will be utilized by the following guidelines and rules:
1. Include existing HRFF Symbol & Logotype (see above right corner).
2. Include phrase: "In memory of Adam Baran"
3. Include existing HGLCF Symbol & Logotype (see above left corner).
4. Make clear the dates and venues for the festival.
5. Include phrase: "19th Annual"
6. Make clear how to find more information about the films and other festival events, and where to go to buy tickets.
